What Is A Good Duolingo Test Score?

A good Duolingo score will be 110 and above. If you score above 120, it is considered excellent. This is especially in comparison to IELTS, TOEFL, and CEFR scores. A score of 7 is considered suitable for IELTS, 86 for TOEFL, and a grade of B2 is deemed ideal for CEFR. Though many universities are lenient on TOEFL and IELTS scores, your score can never go below 110 for Duolingo.

After you complete the Duolingo test, you will get a notification regarding your test score within 48 hours. You will receive the email notification on your registered email. How To Access The Duolingo Test Score?

Duolingo has a unique method of calculating the sub-scores. At the same time, Duolingo does not examine each section separately. Instead, it analyses a combination of components which everyone uses separately. For instance, a person conversing in English simultaneously listens to English too. How To View Duolingo English Test Score?

The Duolingo English Test result will be out within 48 hours of the completion of the test. You will receive an email notification regarding the same. It will be released as a certificate, and you can quickly view/download it. The steps to be followed for the same are as follows.

Sign in to your Duolingo account.
Open the certificate.
Click on the ‘Print Result’ button.
Save the certificate in pdf format.

How To Send The Score Results To Universities?

Once you get the result of the Duolingo test, you can proceed to send the same to the universities and colleges you prefer. A step-by-step procedure on how to send the same is given below.

Log in to your Duolingo account.
Move down and click on the ‘Send Result’ option.
Enter the names of colleges/universities and select the choices with the help of the checkbox.
You can select up to 40 institutions at a time.
Provide the application ID if asked for.
Click the Send button after filling all the fields.

What Can Institutions See In The Score Report?

Once your test result is out, you can directly send the same to your preferred institutions. In the same, they can view your scores, sub-scores, and ungraded video and writing samples. A detailed description of the same is given below.

DET Score: Your institution can view your overall score and sub-score in the certificate just like you can view your score.
Speaking and Writing Samples: The universities will also be able to view the speaking and writing samples you did during the last 10 minutes of your test. It is good to have an excellent score here as it reflects your grasp of the language.

Duolingo Score Validity

The Duolingo English Test score is valid for two years. As mentioned above, you will get your test result within 48 hours of attending the test. Once the result is out, you can start sending them to your preferred institutions. There is no limit on the number of colleges/universities you can send the same for free.

Retaking Duolingo English Test

You can retake the Duolingo test. However, there are a couple of regulations for the same. They are as follows

If you have received your test result certificate, you can retake the test within 30 days.
Those who have not received their test result within 48 hours can retake it. However, the ‘two tests within 30 days’ limit do not apply to them.
