Though the College Board has not set any eligibility criteria for the SAT Exams, the SAT exams are used for the admissions of international students to undergraduate programs and the candidates should appear for their exams during their 11th or 12th standard. There is no specific age limit for those who are attending the SAT exam, however, those aged between 17 years – 19 years have recorded the highest turnout for their exams. Countries that majorly accept the SAT scores and their results are the USA, Canada, The UK, the Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and many others.

SAT Exam Age Limit
|
There is no set age limit for the SAT exams, hence the candidates who wish to appear for the exams can appear for them without any confusion regarding their age being a limit.

Educational Qualification
|
To apply for SAT Exam, there is no educational requirement. However, those who are in their high school student level can start preparing for this exam in their high school years if they have an idea to pursue a degree.

Frequency
|
There is no set limit to the number of times a candidate can appear for SAT exams and can appear for them till they clear it.
Though it is advised to ensure that the candidates appear for the exams at least twice before finishing their high school education.

SAT Exam Age Limit
As a norm, the candidates who are studying their 10th and 11th standard attempt the SAT exam as stated by the College Board and the age of the applicants are usually around 17 – 19 years.

Students who are under the age of 13 can only register via phone or mail. Due to internet privacy restrictions, students under this age are unable to apply online. Also, students who apply via phone are eligible for a cast waiver.

Students who are below the grade of 9th do not need to submit a photo along with their registration, however, are supposed to produce a valid photo ID to the exam centre.

Students who are above the age of 21 should bring along with them a valid government-issued photo ID to their exam centre.
SAT Eligibility for Students with Disabilities
College Board provides added facilities and exclusions to eligible candidates/students who appear for the SAT exams with disabilities. But these extra perks and additional assistance can only be provided after the approval given by the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) unit beforehand. Once the facilities are approved by the governing body, the student will be eligible to apply for the additional facilities for both the SAT General and the SAT Subject Tests.

SAT Exam Eligibility for ID Proof
The SAT exam eligibility for ID proof is very strict as only Government-issued ID proofs are accepted as proof. For Indian students, however, the Passport is the only acceptable proof for appearing for the SAT Exam. A point to note is that the SAT ID proof must be valid, original document, and not the photocopy version.
- Any digitally tampered, or altered document
- Any torn, defective, or worn out ID
- Any form of temporary ID cards that may have been issued
- Birth certificate
- Documents that are produced in any electronic device
- Employee ID card
- Missing child ID card
- Social Security card
SAT Exam Eligibility Criteria for Photo
The College Board, in their SAT Exam Test Eligibility letter, has mentioned that the candidates are to provide a photograph that will be used as a part in generating the admission ticket and also is required for the security checking process.
There are certain constraints that are to be made note of in the produced photograph. The photograph should not contain these elements in them which are as follows:
- Another person appearing in the image
- Wearing sunglasses
- Wearing a hat or other stuff, not due to religious purpose though
- Any form or sort of digital tampering
- Unrecognisable due to low picture quality
The measures through which the photograph of the candidate can be accepted are as follows:
- Easily identifiable candidate’s image
- The only person in the image
- The image that contains the candidate’s head and shoulders view with eyes, hair, face, and head covering that is prominently visible
- Focused image
- No dark shadows
- A picture that is black and white is also acceptable
The College Board has not established any set requirements regarding the educational or academic standards for the SAT. However, to sit for the exam it is recommended that the candidate has an adequate level of English knowledge as the medium of the SAT Exam is in English along with the understanding of critical knowledge, aptitude, abilities, and understanding about the college and the job readiness.
