TATA Scholarships 2023: Process & Eligibility For TATA Trusts Scholarships

The Tata Trust Scholarship provides financial assistance to merit-based students pursuing higher education. Several Tata trust scholarships are available to deserving students through the Tata groups, Tata trusts, Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Sir Ratan Tata Trust, and other affiliated Tata trustees. 

Tata Trusts provides meritorious Indian students with scholarships and grants to pursue higher education abroad. These scholarships are available at various educational levels. Applicants can select from more than ten scholarships based on their qualifications. These initiatives fund Master's, Bachelor's, and PhD programs in various disciplines.

TATA Scholarships Overview

The prestigious Tata group provides various scholarships and funds to help students in our country pursue higher education. You will easily find your best-fit finance aid program under the schemes offered by the Tata group, whether you plan to study in India or abroad. The prestigious Tata scholarships are available for various fields of study, including Engineering, Social Work, Neuroscience, and others, at different levels of education, including Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees. This blog elaborates on various scholarships offered by the Tata group and their eligibility criteria, among other details, for all those who wish to secure financial assistance for their higher education plans.

Candidates may be eligible for a loan of up to USD 100,000, a USD 50,000 grant for travel expenses and approximately USD 75,000 as a gift. If the applicant can repay the loan in full within the time frame specified, the provider may waive the interest.

Tata Housing Scholarship for Meritorious Girl Students

With scholarships of INR 60,000, the Tata Group provides financial support for female students pursuing higher education in Civil Engineering and Architecture. Female candidates should be in their second year of BArch/BE/BTech, with a minimum of 50% in their annual exams, and their family's income should be at most INR 3 lakhs.

Eligibility & Benefits: Female candidates who are in the 2nd year of their BArch or BTech/ BE degree (Civil Engineering) with at least 50% marks in the annual exams; and their family income should not be more than INR 3 lakhs.

Lady Meherbai D Tata Education Scholarship

If you are looking for a Tata scholarship to study abroad, this is one of the best ones. It allows female students to study overseas in fields such as Social Work, Public Health, Gender Studies, Education, Development Communication, Rural Development, and Child Health. The sum ranges between INR 3-6 lakh. The candidate must have a degree from a recognised university and excellent academic credentials. The candidate should have applied to and been accepted by a prestigious institution in the United Kingdom, the United States, or Europe. Two years of work experience is also required.

Eligibility & Benefits:

  • Indian women who have graduated from a recognised university.
  • Outstanding academic records.
  • The candidate must have applied to or been accepted to a reputable university in the United States, United Kingdom, or Europe.
  • Work experience of at least two years is required.

J N Tata Endowment Scholarship

Based on a candidate's application, this scholarship provides a loan of up to INR 10 lakhs. If the loan is paid on time, the interest may be waived. Candidates must be in their final graduate/Undergraduate year and be under the age of 45.

Eligibility & Benefits:

  • Candidates must be under 45 years old and hold an Undergraduate degree from a recognised Indian institution.
  • Students must be Indian citizens.

Tata Scholarship Cornell University, NY

The Tata Education and Development Trust has a partnership with Cornell University through which Indian students can receive financial assistance for Undergraduate programs at Cornell. About 20 students are chosen for the program each year, and the Tata Group pays their tuition. The applicant must be an Indian national enrolled in a four-year Undergraduate program at Cornell. It applies to all UG courses except the five-year Architecture program, which requires ten full-time semesters. Eligible candidates can use the Tata scholarship money to pay for their tuition. Notably, this scholarship provides funding for up to eight semesters. It does not apply to double courses.

Eligibility & Benefits: 

The candidate must be an Indian national admitted to Cornell University's four-year Undergraduate program.

Tata Trusts Means of Grant for College

This Scholarship is for those who live in Mumbai or its surrounding suburbs and assists students with their higher education. Students in Class 11 and above who are Mumbai natives are eligible.

Eligibility & Benefits: 

Except for Engineering courses, students from Mumbai in the 11th grade or higher can apply for this scholarship.

Tata Trust Medical and Healthcare Scholarships

This Scholarship assists candidates in pursuing programs in Healthcare and Medicine. Students will get a reduction of up to 80% of the tuition fee.

Eligibility & Benefits: This scholarship is open to both Master's and Bachelor's level students of Medicine and Healthcare.

Entry Requirements for Tata Scholarships

An aspiring candidate must meet specific requirements to be considered for this Tata scholarship. However, it is also advisable to check the official website to get recent updates.

The following are some of the eligibility requirements.

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.
  • Applicants for the Tata Scholarship must have completed secondary school in India.
  • One must demonstrate eligibility for a need-based financial grant.
  • Candidates must be admitted to various Undergraduate courses at Cornell University.
  • Applicants must have a TOEFL score of at least 100 or an overall IELTS score of 7.0.

However, applicants who have been accepted at the following institutions will be given priority by the scholarship provider.

  • College of Architecture, Art, and Planning.
  • Applied Economics and Management discipline at Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
  • College of Engineering.
  • Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Physics and more.

Documents Required

You will be required to submit a few documents when you apply for the Tata scholarship. Here are the documents students need to submit when applying for the TATA scholarships.

  • Pay slips of the parents of applicants.
  • Untaxed income records and benefits in the application's fiscal year.
  • The income is recorded in the fiscal year of the application.
  • Record proof of bonds, savings, trusts, stocks, and other investments.
  • Current mortgage information.
  • Returns on earnings.
  • Bank and financial statements are current.
  • If a non-custodial parent's email address is required for the student, provide it.

How to Apply for Tata Scholarships?

Undergraduate applicants who have completed the admission application and applied for financial aid will be considered for the Tata Scholarship. All Undergraduate applicants must apply for financial assistance by completing the international student financial aid application process. The critical steps to a successful application are as follows.

Step 1: Go to the scholarship's official website.

Step 2: Carefully read all the details and click the 'Apply Now' button for the appropriate scholarship.

Step 3: A unique application instruction page will appear. Select the 'Start Application' option.

Step 4: Fill out every field marked with a '*' in the scholarship application form, including personal information, education information, and family members.

Step 5: Upload all supporting documents and bank information.

Step 6: Accept the 'Terms and Conditions' and press the 'Preview' button. Check if the applicant's information is correctly displayed on the preview screen.

Step 7: If all the information in the preview is correct, click the 'Submit' button to finish the application process.

Selection Process
