Comprehensive Guide to FMGE Syllabus

For Indian medical graduates returning from countries like Russia, China, Ukraine, or the Philippines, the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is currently the mandatory screening test towards becoming a practising physician in India. This examination is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) under the National Medical Commission (NMC). Understanding the FMGE syllabus is essential for preparation and success in this competitive examination.

However, prospective candidates must be aware that the National Medical Commission (NMC) intends for the National Exit Test (NExT) to eventually replace the FMGE (along with NEET PG) as the common licensing examination for all MBBS graduates, both Indian and foreign. While the FMGE remains in effect for cohorts preceding NExT's full implementation, preparing diligently based on the current FMGE syllabus is paramount.
